Important contacts

There are several contacts on campus that are here and happy to help you. Please direct you inqueries to one of the addresses, not multiple ones, as our internal ticketing system will only deliver it to one.

The International Office assists and counsels international students at the Technische Hochschule Mannheim, and offers advice concerning adequate financing or applying for a visa or a work permit.

The Student Service Center includes the Admissions Office, the Fees Office and the Examination Office. Thus, it accompanies you from application, to (re-)enrollment and exam registration and until your graduation.

Emergencies

In Germany, the national emergency phone number is 110.

Dial 112 if you need urgentmedical attention but are not able to get to the hospital casualty department/emergency room on your own. This will alert a medical emergency transport. Not to worry, when you have German health insurance, you do not have to pay for the emergency transport.


On campus support

The International Office assists and counsels international students at the Technische Hochschule Mannheim, and offers advice concerning adequate financing or applying for a visa or a work permit. 

There is a contact person for exchange and double-degree students and one contact person for degree-seeking students. These coordinators will help you navigate the time before and during your studies here and will give you guidance regarding the time after you have completed your stay.

If as an exchange student you have questions regarding the courses offered, the time table or other queries that are related directly to your studies here at TH Mannheim, the Departmental Coordinator in your department will be happy to help you. 

So, the International Office is here to support you with administrative issues, the Departmental Coordinators help you with academic matters.

If you are a degree-seeking student, your main academic contact will be the Program Director of your study program.

The Career Center offers coaching and support for various topics, from exam anxiety and time management to job application trainings.

The Sprachenzentrum is your contact for German language courses before and during the semester.

The Student Service Center will administer your (re-)enrollment and exam registration.

Off campus support

For most international students, their first stay in a foreign country is an exciting but also challenging experience, far away from friends and family. Finding your way around a new city and adapting to new regulations and lifestyles can sometimes be quite difficult.

The Studierendenwerk Mannheim coordination center in the Mensaria am Schloss is a great point of contact for international students. Here you can ask any questions and get support with everyday challenges.

The PBS Psychological Counselling Center at the Studierendenwerk mannheim provides support with targeted counselling and coaching measures for study-related and personal problems of all kinds. 

The social counselling service is happy to help with social, economic and other issues as well as for students with children, disabled and/or chronically ill students.
