What is Enterprise Computing?
Computer science is part of everyday life - information technology systems, in short IT systems, archive, administer and process the most varying kinds of data. Nowadays, very few companies can operate without such systems. Enterprise Computing is a sub-area of computer science and concerns information and communication systems in companies.
A multi-faceted degree programme awaits our students. Firstly you'll learn the basics of: mathematics, business administration and programming. You'll learn how large volumes of data are sent and administered, how business processes can be digitalised and companies develop major applications in projects. You can opt to take a closer look at current trends such as Mobile Computing, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing or Design Thinking, depending on your interests.
Career opportunities
Due to the digitalisation of society, many companies face huge challenges; you'll work at the cutting edge of these topics for instance in planning and developing information and communication systems and in improving the processes in companies. You'll work in the following areas at the interface between computer science and business administration:
- Software development
- Sales and marketing
- Quality and IT security
- Project management
Our graduates, both with bachelor's and master's degrees have outstanding career prospects and launch their careers in the following sectors:
- software companies,
- companies with software-assisted business processes (banks, insurance companies, etc.),
- consulting firms,
- research institutions.
Course objectives
The degree programme in Enterprise Computing is an interdisciplinary and application-oriented course. It is geared towards information and communication systems in companies and teaches:
- fundamentals and terminology of business administration, enterprise computing,
