FAQs Financial matters
Do I need to pay tuition fees as an international degree-seeking student?
Education in Germany is heavily subsidized and, therefore, not costly. For non-EU international degree-seeking students, universities in Baden-Württemberg charge moderate tuition fees. These fees amount to €1,500 per semester and apply to all students who are not citizens of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA).
Possible exemptions to the tuition fees payment are defined by the state´s academic law and include for example international students with a domestic university entrance qualification, or asylum seekers with a valid residence permit. If you meet the criteria for exemption and provide the required documentation in time for enrollment you will not be required to pay tuition fees.
Exchange and double-degree students are exempt from tuition fees at TH Mannheim.
