First two semesters in English - you can apply with no or minimal German language skills
From third semester onwards in German

The degree includes German language courses (free of charge) that will prepare you for advanced studies in German. The degree also includes an internship semester at a company in Germany.

After graduation, you will have the neccessary knowledge and language skills to kick-start your career in Germany.

All courses, including lectures, seminars and projects are offered in English. Students can apply with no or minimal German language skills. 

EMB students will also be supported in learning German well enough to start working in a German speaking company or to continue studying for a Master's Degree at German universities.

  • unique, interdisciplinary foundation in General Engineering in semesters 1-4, with an emphasis is on topics in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and process engineering
  • The 5th semester is a practical semester in the German, European, or international industry, allowing students to apply their acquired theoretical knowledge in practice and establish professional connections
  • For students who choose the General Engineering focus, all courses in semesters 6 and 7 are conducted in English (specialized topics in engineering, such as process control technology or product development)
  • Students also have the option to choose the specializations in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering in semesters 6 and 7 (in German)
Teaching language

German language courses are available - and free of charge for you - through our Language Center to help you build additional skills for living and working in Germany.
