Whether you want to complete a full degree or spend one or two semesters as an exchange or double-degree student, the application process differs slightly. Below you will find an overview of the steps and the appropriate application route.

The application process follows several steps, from choosing your program to submitting your documents and receiving your admission decision.

2. Check admission requirements

Review the academic qualifications, language requirements and application deadlines for your chosen program.

3. Prepare required documents

Collect and prepare all necessary documents, such as certificates, transcripts and proof of language proficiency.

4. Submit your application online

Submit your application through the TH Mannheim Campus Portal (degree-seeking students) or Mobility Online (exchange and double-degree students) and upload all required documents.

In order to start your journey at TH Mannheim, there are several important steps to prepare for your arrival and the start of your studies. These include housing, health insurance, enrollment and orientation events.

Degree-seeking students:

Please check the deadline for the respective study program.

For the international programs, the deadlines are as follows:

Exchange students:

  • 31st of May: Application for winter wemester (beginning of September until mid February)
  • 15th of November: Application for summer semester (mid March until mid July)

If you are amongst the lucky ones who get offered a spot in one of our study programs, you will find our offer on a study place in the application portal / Campusportal. Download your "Confirmation of Admission" letter directly from the portal, it contains all important details about the place offered. You will have 14 days in order to accept the offered place by requesting enrollment via our Campusportal.

The Letter of Admission also includes information about the fees to be paid (Gebührenbescheid), a letter to the embassy you can use for your visa application, and information on the German language courses.

Should you decide to return your offered study place, please do so in the application portal / Campusportal, to give other students the possibility to study with us. Also withdrawal from your request of enrollment has to be done via the portal. Should you need to cancel your enrollment due to visa problems, please contact your department contact person for further procedure.

If you have already accepted an offer for a dormitory room, please do not forget to cancel this as well.
