First, you need a nomination from your home institution. This is a requirement for obtaining the exchange student status – especially for Erasmus+ scholarships and other fixed programs. Please contact the responsible office at your home university for information regarding the nomination process.

If your home university is not a partner of TH Mannheim, but you want to spend a semester abroad here anyway, please feel free to contact us regarding possibilities for so called “freemovers”.

In most cases, the best route is to apply for a student applicant visa during the selection process instead of first waiting for admission. Otherwise you may risk losing your place because there is usually not enough time between the admission period and the start of the semester.
