For a good start

To all new students: Welcome to Mannheim!

Your accommodation is waiting for you and, with a little bit of luck, a friend or a fellow student will pick you up at the train station and take you there. Step by step, you’ll collect everything you need: bed sheets, towels, new cooking utensils, food for the fridge, a poster for the wall, maybe a flower pot?

And you’ll also start doing what you came here for – studying at the university. We suggest that you stay informed by visiting our websites regularly (this one, the German central site, your department's website) before and during your stay to prepare yourself in the best possible way, and to make sure that you do not miss anything.

The following sources of information will make your start at Hochschule Mannheim a lot easier:

In the week before the lectures start, the International Office invites all new international students (exchange and degree-seeking) to participate in our Welcome Days.

The Welcome Days usually include some excursions as well as important information about your studies at Hochschule Mannheim. The International Office will inform you about the details.

Our Welcome Guide for international students contains all the information you need for getting started at Hochschule Mannheim.
