Buddy program
The International Office of TH Mannheim organizes a buddy program. Freshmen international students are matched with advanced students in order to make the start in Mannheim easier.
You are leaving home for the first time, traveling for most of the day, arriving in a country you know little about, where people speak a language you are not too good at, and arriving in a city where you do not understand how the public transport system works. You need to find your way to the university or get a key to a room, and you have no idea how to get there.
At times like this, you need help: Your buddy will be waiting for you at Mannheim train station with your room key to take you to your room and make sure your arrival is a success.
You will also be helped on your first day at university to register at the university and then to go to the city to register with the city; help with opening a bank account, getting a semester ticket, and anything else within reason you need.
Who is this angel? It is a student from an advanced semester who appreciated the help when they arrived in Mannheim and wants to help you.
